Museveni Urges RDCs To Eradicate Poverty, Fight Corruption

Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni has called on Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) to supervise wealth creation programs and help eradicate poverty.

The president made this call on Tuesday while addressing RDCs and their deputies at State House Entebbe.

“You must also play a critical role in getting our people out of poverty, especially by supervising wealth creation programmes in your localities. Also, fight crime and help check corruption at local governments,” Museveni said.

He added, “As leaders you must identify the needs of the societies you lead and provide solutions.”

This address marked the close of a week-long induction course.

“The course you have been undertaking is good because it helps you appreciate the dynamics of man and society. Like a patient, one cannot treat society’s ills unless they have done a proper diagnosis. This helps you clarify your vision about society,” Museveni said.

The RDCs spent the most part of last week  at the National Leadership Institute (NALI) in Kyankwanzi as part of the induction course.
