Uganda Baati Ltd, one of the country’s oldest roofing solutions provider Tuesday launched a campaign dubbed the Fundi Club campaign which will see over 600 roof installers trained, across Uganda.
Speaking at a press conference to launch the campaign, George Arodi, the Country Manager said Uganda Baati decided to launch this exclusive club targeting roof installers commonly known as fundis, because they are the most reliable experts for any form of domestic roofing.
“Ugandans rely on these installers for technical advice and installation. Therefore, empowering them with modern roofing technics and knowledge will go a long way in ensuring that Ugandans get the best advice and technical input, when it comes to roofing their houses,” said Arodi.
Jayanta Chakravarty, the Head of Sales & Marketing at Uganda Baati, said the campaign will give technical training and support to fundis in Kampala, Mbarara, Arua, Mbale and Gulu.
“Our technical team will traverse the entire country identifying and training the installers. They will be taught so many things among which the materials to use. For example we have the ultra-span, not so many of them know about it and yet it’s the best replacement to wood. We also have the Fixtite which unlike the ordinary nails can help a roof last longer. So the seminars will handle all these issues,” said Jayanta.
Uganda Baati is a member of the Safal Group of companies.
