It’s been eight years since MTN launched MTN Mobile Money the life changing financial service.
Having started small in 2009 as a means to remit funds, buy airtime or bundles, the financial platform has since evolved to bill payment, saving & borrowing, donations, depositing/withdrawing from the bank as well as paying fees and taxes among other services.
MTN Uganda says its Mobile Money has now grown to over 8 million customers with over 70,000 agents country wide. To celebrate this milestone, the telecom giant has launched the MTN Mobile Money Month packed with bonuses, instant prizes and more surprises.
“It’s been an incredible journey so far and we are taking a deliberate effort to recognize, reward and appreciate our customers who have walked with us the journey of Mobile Money since 2009. We are therefore using this time to celebrate with our customers for using MTN Mobile Money and most importantly gather feedback, resolve customer queries in order to improve the service,” said Elsa Muzzolini, the MTN General Manager-Mobile Financial Services.
“Other activities include bonus for customers buying airtime through MTN Mobile Money, rewards for reactivation of MTN Mobile Money accounts, countrywide MTN Mobile Money clinics where customer issues will be addressed in addition unlocking blocked MTN Mobile Money PINs. Lucky customers will win instant prizes at all MTN Service Centers involved in the MTN Mobile Money month,” she added in a statement dated July8, 2017.
The campaign theme for MTN Mobile Money Month is #Enkolera (‘it works for me’) to depict the numerous but varied ways in which MTN Mobile Money works for different customers from all walks of life in their daily personal, professional and business activities.
