VIDEO: Uganda Airlines Test Flight Breaks Internet, Excites Ugandans

Ugandans are on cloud nine after a video of one of the Uganda Airlines Planes on a test flight was shared by a one Mark Brandon.

Excitement among Ugandans on social media is now in overdrive as many share the video and pictures of the CRJ-900 plane.

The Fly the Crane to the Pearl of Africa – Uganda Airlines first Bombardier CRJ-900 (CRJ9) test flight was conducted at Montreal Mirabel International Airport, Canada.

Uganda Airlines is projected to commence operations this year 2019, with flights destinations round Africa, and beyond.

The four Bombardier CRJ900 planes with a seating capacity of up to 90 passengers will fly to regional destinations such as Nairobi, Kigali, Bujumbura and Juba among others.

According to a copy of the National Airline Business and Implementation Plan, an analysis of the 2016 traffic showed the biggest number of Ugandans travelling in Africa visited Nairobi, followed by Kigali, Johannesburg and Juba. It is to those destinations that flights have been planned with the CRJ900 aircrafts.

Ugandans have taken to Mark’s YouTube channel to comment on the video with many saying they cant wait to fly in the plane which of one of the 4 CRJ’s ordered by the government.

Emmanuel Kaynaja wrote, “This is really Good, Uganda welcome to the clouds.”


Government brought the airline back to life with an order of 4 CRJ9 and 2 A339 aircraft. Here is the first of 4 CRJ’s for the airline!

“It is a thing of beauty. The glory days are making a comeback. Never been more proud. Brings tears in my heart. Uganda oyeeee,” John Peters commented.

Uganda Airlines is now the top trend on micro-blogging website Twitter.

Last year, President Yoweri Museveni revealed that he has since turned his focus on big projects that will spur Uganda’s economic development.
