Sanyu FM Fires Chief Operations Officer Betsy Mugamba Over Strike

Betsy Mugamba is said to have led the June strike

Sanyu FM, one of the leading radio stations in the country has sacked Betsy Mugamba, the station’s Chief Operations Officer, this website has learnt.

Mugamba’s fate was sealed after an audio leaked proving that she was the ring leader of the Sanyu FM strike in June. She is also accused of financial mismanagement.

The Radio station falls under the Ruparelia Group of Companies owned by property mogul, Sudhir Ruparelia.

In June this year, senior staff aka untouchables of the Sanyu FM including James Onen aka Fat Boy were forced out after protesting 25% salary cut by management as a result of the COVID-19 impact.

The station brought in Patrick Salvado, Roger Mugisha, Tina Fierce who quit Vision Group’s Urban TV and Isaac Katende aka Kasuku,  who quit Nation Media Group’s Dembe FM  to grow the rebranded Sanyu FM.

However, the latest we are gathering is that the Chief Operations Officer was behind the strike and has since been fired.

Sources close to Sudhir say he has been quiet on Mugamba for long and it’s time to let her go.

“…Look what she did to my company which I built for many years. I have chosen to let her go now,” Sudhir told his close pals.

He added: “I will never forget the Day Betsy and her group stole my Social Media Platforms and from that Day I have been looking for this Ring Leader of this Strike.”

Betsy rose to the helm of Sanyu FM in 2001 when the station changed hands from the Katto family to the Ruparelia Group.
