Minister Otafiire, Nandala Mafabi Clash Over Njeru Govt Stock Farm Land

Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Kahinda Otafiire (pictured above) and Budadiri West MP, Nandala Mafabi Friday clashed over a government farmland in Njeru.

This is after Otafiire tabled before Parliament documents he said detailed how he came to own government land at Njeru stock farm, arguing that the documents confirmed the transfer of ownership of Njeru Government Stock Farm to him.

The Minister told Parliament that he bought the land from late Kato Fredrick Lukwaju and Christopher Lule who were the administrators of the estate of late Enock Ssebowa.

However, Mafabi  pinned and promised to avail evidence showing the Minister instead  grabbed the land.

He revealed that Otafiire used his office as Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs to write to his colleague the Minister for Lands Betty Amongi Akena about the estate of late Daudi Chwa.

Mafabi quoted Otafiire’s letter as saying: “The beneficiary of the Late Daudi Chwa have petitioned my office on matters regarding their entire estate of the late Daudi Chwa II of specific concern that requires your attention is that the land comprising at Namatabi in Mukono. The said land was surveyed in July 2016. However, the land titles for the above pieces of land haven’t been issued to date and this has affected the beneficiaries. This is therefore to ask you to ask the Officer in Charge to issue the maps of the land. In this deal, he got 50acres of the land.”
