List: The 13 Airfields Managed By Uganda Civil Aviation Authority

Pakuba Airfield in Pakuba is managed by CAA. It is mainly used by tourists.

An airfield or airdrome is a location from which aircraft flight operations take place, regardless of whether they involve air cargo, passengers, or neither, and regardless of whether it is for public or private use.

In Uganda, there are 13 aerodromes/airfields managed by Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA).

The activities and operations at these aerodromes are coordinated by the General Manager Regional Airports.

Below is a list of the airfields managed by UCAA;

Soroti Airfield

This  airfield is located in Eastern Uganda district of Soroti. It is majorly used by East Africa Civil Aviation Academy for training Purposes, but also handles some commercial flights on an adhoc basis. It is one of the facilities established by the East African Community in the early 1970s.

Arua Airfield

The airfield is located in Arua district, West Nile, Northern Uganda. It is a designated Entry and Exit Point.

Gulu Airfield

Gulu airfield is located in the northern Uganda district of Gulu. It is a designated Entry and Exit point.

Jinja Airfield

Jinja Airfield is located in the eastern Uganda district of Jinja and is approximately 90 kilometres east of Entebbe International Airport.

Kasese Airfield

The Airfield is located in the Western Uganda District of Kasese. It is 4 Km from Kasese Town and is close to the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is a designated Entry and Exit Point.

Kidepo Airfield

The airfield is located in Kidepo Valley National Park, in Northern Uganda. It is a designated Entry and Exit Point.

Kisoro Airfield

The airfield is located in the Western Uganda district of Kisoro. It serves the nearby Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Lira Airfield

The airfield is located in Northern Uganda district of Lira..

Mbarara Airstrip

The airstrip is located in Western Uganda district of Mbarara. It is 14 kilometers northwest of the Mbarara central business district and serves Lake Mburo National Park.

Moroto Airfield

The airfield is located in Northern Uganda district of Moroto.

Pakuba Airfield

 The airfield is located in Murchison Falls National Park and plays a vital role in the Albertine Graben region. It is a designated Entry and Exit point.

Tororo Airfield

The airfield is located in the Eastern Uganda district of Tororo. It is close the busy border point of Malaba and Busia.

Masindi Airfield

The airfield is 10 Kilometers from Masindi Town. The airfield was concessioned out to a private developer- Ndege Juu.
