Gov’t Orders Kyagulanyi Private Security To Withdraw

The National Unity Platform (NUP) Presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi has revealed that Government ordered the private security company that has been offering him security to withdraw.

Taking to his official twitter handle, Kyagulanyi wrote, “So, the private security company that has been guarding my home for the last 12 years has been ordered to withdraw security at my house. Their supervisors showed up unannounced at midnight, disarmed my guard and said they had instructions to immediately withdraw my security.”

The development comes at the time Kyagulanyi accused the army of carrying out a raid at his home and arrested all my security guards and anyone they could see around his premises on Tuesday premises, but no reason for the arrest was given.

The arrest of his security detail infuriated Kyagulanyi who noted, “Such acts of impunity are all kicks of a dying horse. Gen. Museveni needs to tell the world what he intends to do in this election that he should arrest my entire campaign team, my assistants & supporters. Last night, the military yet again arrested so many friends and comrades; two days to the election! Others living as fugitives!”

With just few hours to the general elections tomorrow, security forces have intensified their attacks on Kyagulanyi team with the latest information coming from the NUP team indicating that Herman Ainebyoona, the NUP diaspora team leader who had just returned into the country and volunteered to deliver polling day materials on behalf of NUP to Lira was immediately kidnapped and his whereabouts are still unknown with unconfirmed reports indicating he is being held at Lira CPS.
