Ex-President Idi Amin’s Son Taban Named Deputy ISO Boss

Taban Amin, the son to former Ugandan President Idi Amin Dada, has been named the deputy head of the Internal Security Organisation (ISO).

ISO is the intelligence branch of the country’s security apparatus.

This development was revealed by the army spokesperson, Brig Gen Flavia Byekwaso.

It also followed a reshuffle made by President Yoweri Museveni that saw ISO boss Col Kaka Bagyenda replaced by Lt Col Charles Oluka.

“The public is hereby informed that the new Director General Internal Security Organisation (ISO) is Lt Col Charles Oluka and his Deputy is Mr Taban Amin. Lt Katabaazi was only promoted to Major,” Byekwaso said on Twitter.

She added, “Some press reports have referred to him as the Deputy DG ISO which is incorrect. Congratulations to Lt Col Charles on his new appointment.”

Some reports had claimed that Museveni replaced Col Bagyenda’s deputy Don Mugimba with Lt Emmy Katabazi.
