COVID-19 Cases Rise To 507 As More Ugandans Contract Disease

The Ministry of Health has confirmed 18 new COVID-19 cases from samples tested on 02 June 2020. The total confirmed cases are now 507.

“4 cases are truck drivers who arrived from South Sudan via Elegu. 2 cases are from Malaba. 12 cases are alerts and contacts to previously confirmed cases,” the Ministry said.

It added that of the 12 cases from contacts and alerts, 8 are from Amuru, 3 are from Buikwe and 1 is from Kyotera districts.

 “Additionally, 21 positive foreign truck drivers (13 Kenyans,3 Tanzanians,4 Eritreans and 1 Congolese)were handed to their country of origin,” the Health Ministry said.

Uganda has 82 total recoveries and zero COVID-19 related deaths.
