Coronavirus: Tanzania Reopens Schools & Colleges

Students in Tanzania are heading back to high schools and colleges for the first time in about two months, but will adhere to strict guidelines to ensure their safety from coronavirus.

The school calendar was interrupted in March following the outbreak of the virus. But now, amid what the government terms as a decline in infections, colleges and A-level schools are reopening.

President John Magufuli (pictured) has said he will consider reopening schools for younger learners if the infection rate continues to decline.

Faustine Bee, the Vice Chancellor of Dodoma University, has urged institution to adhere to guidelines issued by the government, which include wearing of mask, washing hands and social distancing.
