A total of Uganda shillings 6,150,000 will be paid at the Easter Open pool championship to the leading players at Georgina Gardens in Kasubi.
The men’s winner will be paid Shs.2m with the second taking home a Shs.1m purse.
The winner of the ladies’ category is poised to win Shs1.2m with the second placed finisher bagging Shs600,000.
According to the Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) spokesman Dennis Ngobi, the championship is important because participants can be able to earn ranking points.
“We expect a good turn up with elite players in action because no one takes seeding points lightly,” Ngobi told Daily Monitor.
Lincoln Kaggwa beat Amos Ndyagumanawe to win last year’s championship which was held in Masaka by Elite Klein while Sharon Mirembe defeated Vicky Namuyanja to emerge male and female winners respectively.
