The United States Mission in Uganda has donated USD3.5M (about Shs12.4bn) towards the purchase of medical oxygen for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
The United States Mission made the revelation today on the Mossion’s twitter handle.
“Medical oxygen is an essential, life-saving treatment for COVID19 patients. To make sure that oxygen saves Ugandan lives, the United States through USAID just contributed US$3.5M (USH12.4B) for oxygen & other supplies. The US is committed to supporting Uganda’s COVID response,” read in part the statement.
Meanwhile, Parliament’s Covid19 taskforce camped in Western Uganda learnt with shock that Kabale Regional Referral Hospital doesn’t have any drugs for treatment of Covid19.
Senior Pharmacist Rodney Tabaruka Tibaruha told MPs that even when supplies come, they are incommensurate to needs.
