President Uhuru Kenyatta has said that he does not agree with the ruling of the Supreme Court but he respects the decision made.
He has said that he does not understand how the Supreme Court arrived at the decision of nullifying the Presidential Elections but he is ready for the second election that the Court had ordered to take place in 60 days.
President Uhuru has urged Kenyans to maintain peace saying that “Your neighbour will still be your neighbour regardless of what the judgment has been, my message is peace.”
“It is important for us to be respecters of the rule of law, as much as I disagree with the ruling, I respect it. I say peace, because the fault is not yours. Your neighbor remains your neighbor and that is the person who is most important to you,” he continued.
“Millions of people queued and made their choice and six people have decided that they will go against that will,” said Mr President.
