The Ministry of Health has confirmed 8 new COVID-19 cases from 2,526 samples tested on 16 June 2020.
According to a press statement signed off by Henry G. Mwebesa (pictured), the Director General Health Services at Ministry of Health, the total confirmed cases now stand at 732 while COVID-19 recoveries stand at 409.
The Ministry says 4 of the new cases are truck drivers while the other 4 are alerts and contacts of previously confirmed cases.
Additionally, 16 foreign truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 and were handed over to their respective countries of origin.
“To-date Uganda has not registered any COVID-19 related death,” Mwebesa emphasized.
