Top South African Entrepreneur Set To Engage With Uganda’s Business Community

Renowned venture capitalist, global speaker, author and business mogul Vusi Thembekwayo (pictured) will be in Uganda from Wed 4th to Saturday 7th 2020 for a series of exclusive engagements with Uganda’s business community.

Vusi Thembekwayo – also famously known as ‘Vusi’ – has successfully built and transformed businesses in South Africa and on the African continent.

Vusiwill be hosted by Capital One Group – a marketing communications agency operating in Uganda and Kenya.

Paul Mwirigi Muriungi, Capital One Group’s Managing Director, highlighted the benefits of this once in a lifetime opportunity for Ugandan corporates and entrepreneurs to book a ticket to some of the events available.

“We are proud to host Vusi Thembekwayo whose business pedigree is unrivaled and is reflected in his client testimonials, board appointments and invitations to speak across the globe,”said  Mwirigi.

Acknowledged as one of the most influential venture capitalists in the African continent, Vusi serves on the board of SAVCA (the South African Venture Capitalist Association) and is Managing Partner of Watermark Capital Partners, a pan-African private equity firm with assets across the sub-continent.

“This is a rare chance to have Vusi visit Uganda and we therefore urge top corporate organisations, business leaders, management teams and boards as well as entrepreneurs who want to position their businesses for growth in the new decade to attend,” added Mwirigi.

On his part, Vusi praised Uganda’s growth in the last decade but highlighted the need for businesses to do more to be able to effectively compete in the new decade:

“I look forward to my engagement in Uganda and sharing insights on how businesses can achieve exponential growth in linear markets. It is important for business leaders to position themselves for exceptional growth in times of change and uncertainty”

As part of his entrepreneurship foundation, Thembekwayo is the Chairman of MyGrowthFund, a community-centric venture capital firm and business accelerator.

At 25, Thembekwayo ran a R400 million division at a renowned multinational and went on to be one of the youngest Directors of a JSE listed company.

He is the former CEO of advisory firm Motiv8 Advisory. In early 2017, he sold a majority stake of his management advisory and growth consultancy business Motiv8 Advisory to United States based Watermark Advisory LLP.
