Police have been involved in running battles with members of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party.
Images shared on social media on Monday show clouds of teargas in Kireka as police tried to disperse FDC supporters who had gathered at their office in the area.
They were set to hold their general meeting at Namboole stadium.
