NDA Warns Ugandans Against Buying Drugs From Hawkers

It’s only safe drugs that can save lives. This explains why the National Drug Authority (NDA) has embarked a campaign aimed at sensitizing Ugandans against buying drugs from unauthorized outlets.

NDA says that the drugs you buy from a hawker can kill you or your loved ones.

“Don’t let this happen; strictly buy drugs from outlets licensed by the National Drug Authority,” NDA says.

The Authority is charged with promoting and protecting public health through the effective regulation of human, animal medicines and health care products.

This campaign is timely because hawkers and unlicensed herbalists are taking advantage of the COVID-19 situation to dupe unsuspecting Ugandans into buying their fake concoctions aka drugs.

“Report all suspected adverse drug reactions (ADR) on all drugs, vaccines, herbal products, medical devices and other health products. You don’t need to be certain. You just need to have a suspicion. Please report even if you do not have all the details,” NDA urges Ugandans.
