Q: Could you tell us about the Ggwa Mu Bintu  campaign and what you have in store for us.

A: dfcu Bank has come up with an amazing campaign to support students, parents/ guardians with efficient school fees paying platforms and schools owners to meet their operational costs as the new school term and academic year begin. For school owners, we have the dfcu School Bridge Loan – which is an unsecured short-term loan that is designed to give schools a boost of up to 500 Million Uganda Shillings.

At dfcu, we understand that schools need working capital as the academic year begins and have created this loan which comes at affordable interest hours.

Q: Who qualifies for this loan?

A: This loan is designed for schools who bank with dfcu Bank. If you own or operate a school but don’t have an account with dfcu Bank, please visit any of our branches or email us at: Schoolssupport@dfcugroup.com and we will find you the right solution for your needs.

Q: What type of security do the schools need to put up to have access to the loans?

A: dfcu Bank is not asking for security. The owners School Bridge facility is hinged onto the cash flow of the recipient schools. No security will be required from the school. However, should a school’s financing needs be more and for a longer period, we can explore the option of secured loan facilities.

Q: How long will it take to process the loan since school opening is around the corner?

A: dfcu Bank has quickened the process and time it takes for schools to access this financing. Once all the paperwork is completed, it will take 48 hours for the money to be available.

Q: You noted that the Bank has also catered for parents of school going children. Please expound on that.

A: Definitely. We have the dfcu Mobi Loan, where parents can have access to instant loans of up to 2 million UGX, through our dfcu QuickBanking App. With the MobiLoan, our customers get the money within 5 minutes.

Q: As a parent, can I  pay my child’s fees using any of dfcu’s channels?

A: Yes, you can. When you pay school fees using SchoolPay or our QuickBanking platforms, you stand a chance to win a cashback of UGX 500,000.
