Munyagwa Given Last Chance To Appear Before Anti Corruption Court

The Office of The Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP)  has given the new Chairperson of the Committee of Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE),  Mubarak Munyagwa last chance to appear before the Anti Corruption Court on 5th  April 2019.

The ODPP registered a case of corruption against the Kawempe South MP in January 2019, but efforts to secure his appearance have been unfruitful to date.

“The case against him is that of soliciting a bribe of 100 million from Kakumba Francis in order to unduly influence Kawempe Division Urban Council to nominate Kakumba’s son as a member of the Kampala City Land Board representing Kawempe Division,” ODPP said in a statement posted on its official facebook page.

He is charged with receiving the same money in two installments of USD 20,000 and Ushs4 million.

Appearing before the Chief Magistrate, Her Worship Lamunu Pamela, his legal representative from Lukwago and Co Advocates undertook to produce his client in Court on the 5th of April. The ODPP was represented by Alice Komuhangi Khaukha.
