MUBS, Rotary International Award URSB Boss Kainobwisho For Excellent Leadership

URSB Registrar General Mercy Kainobwisho displays the two awards she received from Rotary International for community engagement

Mercy Kainobwisho, the Registrar General of Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) & Official Government Receiver was yesterday honored with the Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Women of Distinction Award for excellent leadership. The prestigious recognition is bestowed on women whose drive, ingenuity, solid vision and leadership abilities are outstanding, and have made significant contributions to the personal and professional advancement of women through leadership, education, advocacy and mentoring.

“What an honor to be recognized amongst some of the most driven and inspiring women in leadership,” said Kainobwisho. “I am both grateful and humbled to be recognized for my leadership abilities. As a woman, I will continue to strive to be the best and provide the ultimate example for my fellow women in leadership. I thank MUBS for this recognition.”

The Makerere University Business School Women of Distinction Awards also honour women whose achievements contribute to the well-being and future of their communities. The awards also recognize women leaders from the business sector and organizations that support the wellness and the diverse needs of the communities.

“This achievement was well deserved,” said Waswa Balunywa, the Principal of Makerere University Business School. “I have seen Ms. Kainobwisho consistently produce outstanding results with entrepreneurial ingenuity, an uncompromising force of will with a stand-out personality. What is perhaps even more important is aside from her professional pursuits, she exemplifies a big heart that is looking for any possible way to help people.”

During the International Women’s Day celebrations on Monday 08th March, 2021,  Ms. Kainobwisho was also recognized by Rotary International for being the best overall President in Community Engagement and also accorded the award for best exemplary leadership under the Platinum category. She was hailed for making meaningful contribution to community projects.

The winners in these awards are nominated by their peers on the basis of their achievements, influence on community, creative and innovative leadership.
