Jubilee Insurance Firm has partnered with Afrisafe Risk Consultants Uganda Ltd to minimize the hurdles involved in processing Motor 3rd Party services. The service will now be accessed on mobile phones.
Dubbed 3Rd Party ‘Ku Ssimu’, the new innovation is aimed simplifying the process for all the vehicle users from a long day to at least one hour.
While launching 3rd Party ‘Ku Ssimu’ at Serena Hotel in Kampala on Tuesday, Afrisafe Business Relations Manager Sean Oseku Solomon explained that the innovation requires a user to have a phone with mobile money, SSD and message functioning.
“”It is convenient and available to everyone even those without a smart phone. The process is timely and it will involve door to door delivery,” Oseku said.
He added that since the 3rd Party Motor insurance is mandatory by law, Afrisafe felt important to make the process simpler because over 90% of the car owners have mobile phones.
Afrisafe Senior Consultant, Juliet Namayanja added that the firm has been doing consultation work in insurance industry since 2016 and they are optimistic that the initiative will help make more Ugandans appreciate insurance.
Jubilee’s Nick Mutiiso said that statistics indicate 1 in 3 cars don’t have insurance and many drivers have fake stickers on their cars to avert traffic police.
He said that 3rd Party Insurance costs between sh68, 000 – sh72, 000 annually.
Managing Director, Jubilee Insurance Uganda, Deepak Pandey also urged that the product will not only make purchase of third motor insurance easier, but their partnership with Afrisafe will help serve Jubilee clients effectively.
According to Pandey, Jubilee last financial year accumulated Shs59bn in claims of which Sh2bn was for Motor 3rd Party Insurance.
He said the claims range from Shs1M – Shs10M.
“Third party insurance is mandated by law and it’s important the process becomes simpler for an average Ugandan motorist. Once a motorist give us their details as required by the policy, data will instantly be captured and saved for future use where the Afrisafe automated system will automatically give motorists a reminder when their 3rd party is due next and also reminders when it’s about to expire,’ commented Kwame Ejalu, Afrisafe Chairman.
I got a third party sticker in Nov 2019 and is to expire in Nov 2020 , but2020 wasn’t written clearly wherever i try to upload its always rejected. What can i do?
