NASA leader Raila Odinga on Thursday claimed that criminals started posting results into the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) servers a day before the election date (August 8), reports the Standard newspaper.
He said that NASA technology experts were able to discover the malpractice from the logs given to them by the electoral body.
“Criminals started posting results in the IEBC servers as early as August 7, this our experts found out from the logs given by IEBC to them when the body refused to open the servers,” claims Odinga.
“This is what we have been saying that nearly 10,000 form 34As were altered in the server using password of IEBC chairman, Wafula Chebukati,” he added.
At a press conference where he was accompanied by Musalia Mudavadi, Raila said that some of the people who accessed the server before the polling day included key Jubilee party agents.
He repeated that some of the leaders declared winners by the commission were not democratically elected by the people terming them computer chicks (Vifaranga vya computer).
Supreme Court on September 1 declared the results of last month’s presidential poll “invalid, null and void” and ordered the election be re-run within 60 days.
IEBC has already set October 17 for the repeat of the presidential poll.
