First Daughter, Diana Museveni Kamuntu (pictured) has asked government to focus on developing new tourism products and increase funding to the sector.
President Museven’s younger daughters says focus should be on infrastructure like roads and s hotel that will attract more tourists into the country.
She made the call during the launch of the parliamentary Forum for conservation and sustainable Tourism held at Hotel Africana recently.
She noted that tourists sites like Fort Patiko in Gulu district, Bigo Bya Mugenyi in Sembabule district among others require better roads and hotels to attract tourists .
She told parliament to increase budget for marketing Uganda’s tourism abroad and in the process attract more foreigner tourists into the country.
She further pleaded with MPs to allocate funds for Bwindi impenetrable forest road which she described as scary to her and other travelers.
Government should invest in tourism.
