Court Fines MP Abiriga Shs40,000 For Urinating In Public

Arua Municipality MP, Abraham Abiriga was on Tuesday morning set free by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) court after paying Shs40, 000 fine.

He was charged with committing a public nuisance by urinating in public after pictures of the incident were widely shared on social media.

According to prosecution, on September 25, 2017 along Kyaggwe Road in Kampala city, Abiriga urinated on the fence of the ministry of finance.

He was prosecuted under a city ordinance which says that if any person is found guilty of “easing in the city” or committing a “public nuisance” will be fined 40,000 shillings or will be imprisoned for two months or will receive both punishments.

Abiriga admitted the incident before cameras, saying: “Can I keep on keeping urine in me”.

City Hall court issued criminal summons against after the incident.
