CORONAVIRUS: Relief As Tour Guide Isolated In Kanungu Tests Negative

Uganda’s Health Ministry has revealed that a tour guide who was isolated after he presented symptoms similar to coronavirus have tested negative.

“Results from the suspected case from Kanungu who presented with signs and symptoms similar to COVIDー19 have tested NEGATIVE at the UVRI,” a brief statement from the country’s ministry of health said on Monday.‬

The tour guide had been quarantined at Kihihi health centre IV in Kihihi town council, Kanungu district in western Uganda. 

A health worker at the health centre told local media that the suspect, a tour guide and resident of Kamene in Kihihi sub county reported to the facility on Saturday and was immediately quarantined because he presented symptoms of COVID-19.

Uganda has no cases of the now dreaded disease that is ravaging the world.

Most countries in East Africa have registered cases of COVID-19.
