The commander of Land Forces Major General Peter Elwelu has been promoted to the rank of Lt General.
Elwelu is part of the 65 officers promoted by President Yoweri Museveni on Friday.
General Elwelu is remembered for leading the attack on the Rwenzururu Kingdom palace in western Uganda in 2016 that left more than 100 people dead.
