Cairo Bank Uganda Appoints Christine Birungi As New Head of Marketing & Communications

Cairo Bank Uganda has appointed Christine Birungi (pictured above) as the New Head of Marketing, Communications & PR.

Birungi has been the Marketing, Communications & PR Manager at Finance Trust Bank where she has led the bank’s Communication and Marketing initiatives to drive growth and as well as maintain value-creating stakeholder relations- Board and Share Holders, Management & Staff, Regulators, Customers and the Media.

Birungi is a multi-dimensional professional with expertise in Sales, Marketing, Communications & Public Relations, Digital Marketing, Events Management, Branding and Project management. She is pursuing a Professional Public Relations Diploma, holds a Master’s in Business Administration majoring in Marketing, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management among other credentials.

Birungi has undergraduate knowledge in Guidance and Counseling- a core of her first degree which she spins off to weld a high level of team management and relation.

She is a digital communications professional and a member of the Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU).

For the past three years, she presided over effort to turn Finance Trust Bank into an appealing innovative institution attracting both customers (23.7% growth) and the best staff. She specifically led the digitalization agenda to give 40% of the customers’ digital self-service tools. She oversaw the bank’s corporate social responsibility agenda.

At FTB, through support to the Head Business Development in growth of the bank’s corporate image, her work has been based on and is measured through:

Financial Performance by supporting the achievement of the bank’s annual financial objectives through the development and implementation of a marketing plan; customer management, review and maintenance of the bank’s Corporate Identity ensuring a consistent and cohesive ‘look and feel’ across all the bank’s communications, activities and infrastructure; managing corporate Governance and Risk through provision of crisis management support especially managing communication with employees, customers and media whilst recommending and participating in the review of the Bank policies and practices as well as providing People and Talent leadership to ensure effective execution and personal growth.

She was formerly the Supervisor Corporate Affairs at Centenary Bank where she managed the bank’s corporate social investment.
