The Uganda Advertising Association (UAA), in partnership with Loeries and the Uganda Marketers Society, is set to host the much-anticipated annual Silverback Awards 2024 in celebration of creativity and innovation in the marketing and communication industry. The awards gala will take place on 23rd November at the prestigious Kampala Serena Hotel under the theme “Guardians of the Grind.”.
This year’s awards have attracted an impressive 117 submissions, with 89 outstanding campaigns making it to the shortlist versus 80 submissions and 48 shortlisted in 2023. The event promises to be a spectacular evening, honoring trailblazing individuals and organizations that have raised the bar in the advertising and marketing landscape.
Adding depth to the celebrations, the awards will be preceded by the Communication Industry Symposium, a forum that will bring together thought leaders, industry experts, and innovators to explore the theme: “Innovative Sustainable Marketing/Communication—Ethics, Impact & Profitability in the Digital Age.”
The symposium aims to address the pressing challenges and opportunities posed by the digital revolution, emphasizing the importance of ethical practices, impactful storytelling, and profitability in today’s dynamic communication environment.
Speaking about the awards, UAA Chairman highlighted the significance of recognizing exceptional talent in the industry, saying, “The Silverback Awards are a testament to the creativity and resilience of our marketing and communication professionals. This year’s theme for the symposium underscores our commitment to fostering sustainable practices that benefit businesses, consumers, and society at large while also continuously pursuing higher global standards in the communication industry in Uganda.”
