Makerere University Business School Career and Skills Development Centre has recognised Young Engineers (e²) Uganda for its contribution towards career development.
The Young Engineers program, a branch of Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths (STEM) solution targeting kids from the age of 3 and up to 15, is run in Uganda by the African School of Innovations, Science and Technology Ltd as a franchise from the worldwide Young Engineers in Israel.
e² aims to nurture Uganda’s next generation of problem solvers using LEGO. The Ugandan franchise is run by Media Entrepreneur and respected businessman, Arinaitwe Rugyendo.
Their programs include after-school enrichment classes, pre-school classes, summer camps, birthday parties and special events where children are given an opportunity to learn while having fun building with the world’s favorite building block.
Research has shown that children on STEM programmes tend to appreciate and perform better in science and technology-related subjects than those that are not.
Las week, the franchise announced that it had moved location in what many say is a sign that its attracting many young children to be part of the program.
