URA Intensifies Preparations for Continental Tax Administration Conference

Uganda Revenue Authority’s preparations for the upcoming African Tax Administration Forum slated to take place from 19-22 November 2019 are in high gear.

Speaking with the journalists in a meeting on Thursday at URA board room, ATAF Country Representative, Stella Nyapendi said that the conference which will be hosted by the tax body, will come to Kampala to celebrate the 10th year anniversary.

She said that ATAF will celebrate its first decade in Uganda since its inception in November 2009 at a conference in Kampala.

“ATAF has made significant progress and can point to a range if achievements that has cemented its position at the leading organisation on tax matters on African continent,” she said.

Nyapende further noted that the forum has registered achievements which include the reviewing of business structures and procedures, training of over 1000 officials in audit, risk management, tax treaties among others across Africa.

The forum has attracted 38 member states and aims to reach all 54 African nations.
