Uganda Baati, one of the leading roofing sheets manufacturers given Shs20m sponsorship package to the National Hockey League 2019.
The roofing company announced the sponsorship package at their headquarters at Industrial Area on Friday.
According to George Arodi, the Head of Business, the funds will go to the organisation and the promotion of the national league.
“We are happy to be of this partnership and we are looking forward to building a league that will change hockey games not only on the local scene but across the region,” he said.
Lydia Sanyu, the Chairlady of Uganda Hockey Association applauded the commitment by Uganda Baati, vowing that the sport will pay their loyalty.
“Your sponsorship will help us in ensuring we host a successful event that will provide great experience for all the stakeholders,” she said
Sanyu said the sport has a budget of sh200m for the season and called for more sponsorship.
The hockey league runs from March to December with 13 sides under 2 categories of men and women.
