Tongues Wag As Museveni, Kagame ‘Chat’ At Ramaphosa Inauguration

Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni and his Rwandan counterpart, Paul Kagame on Saturday shared a row at the inauguration of newly elected South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

President Museveni’s Press Secretary Lindah Nabusayi shared a picture of the two leaders on Saturday, sending Uganda’s keyboard warriors aka social media analysts into override with many wondering what the two leaders could have been discussing considering the ‘heightened tensions’ between the two nations.

Nabusayi did not mention whether the two discussed anything although the Rwandan leader appeared to be gesturing towards a listening Museveni in the picture.

The ceremony was held at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

On Friday, Rwandan soldier reportedly shot dead a Ugandan at the border in South western Uganda. The police have said they are investigating the incident.

Museveni later said he looks forward to strengthening the ‘long deep, politcal and economic bond between Uganda and South Africa.

Museveni received at the event

“I congratulate His Excellency Ramaphosa and the ANC party for the victory and the magnificent function. Uganda and South Africa have a long, deep political and economic bond, which we hope to strengthen with the new government,” Museveni said.

Uganda and South African enjoy warm relations.
