NRM Acts On Fake Court Order To Cancel Youth Elections

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has reportedly postponed youth elections for Northern Uganda   following a fake Interim Order purportedly from the Registrar Civil Division of the High Court.

The order purportedly restrains the holding of NRM Youth Elections for Northern Uganda.

In a statement dated October 9, 2020, the Judiciary says the Interim Order circulating online is fake.

“Further reference is made to communications on National Resistance Movement letter heads that quote the said Interim Order that are also circulating in the media,” the statement from the Judiciary reads in part.

It adds: “Whereas it is true that a one Abudul George has petitioned the Civil Division of the High Court on an elections related matters, the Court has NOT ISSUED any order in the matter. The order circulating is therefore a FORGERY and should be ignored with all the contempt it deserves.”

The Judiciary says it has reported this matter to the Police for investigation and prosecution of the culprits.
