Museveni, Danish Envoy Discuss Loans & Scientific Elections Road-map

Uganda’s President on Thursday met with the Danish ambassador to Uganda and the two discussed a wide range of issues including next year’s general polls that have since been christened ‘scientific polls’ becuase of the nature in which they will be held.

Behold is a statement from the president

Met with H.E Nicolaij Peterson the Danish Ambassador to Uganda and his deputy Henric Jespersen, I received a detailed brief on current and upcoming initiatives of cooperation between our countries.
The contribution of the Danish government and people to us over the years is well appreciated and particularly the interventions towards the fight against COVID-19 are well received and I thank them.

On economic support, I welcome the low interest loan service to the agriculture sector through ABI Trust, where our farmers are accessing capital at no more than 10% interest rate. This is a breathe of fresh air from the extortionist commercial banks that have turned our country into a supermarket of Chinese goods, since their exorbitant interest rates only support traders who deal in such merchandise and can afford the rates.

I briefed the envoys on the proposed scientific election roadmap. Our view is that the elections can go on within the guidelines of the electoral commission and the scientists.

Concerning COVID -19 fight, we continue manoeuvring, led by our scientists, with prevention strategy and boosting immunity for the cases we have registered.
We have 717 recovered as of 24th June 2020 and no death registered so far.
