Most of the insecurity in Entebbe municipality stems from fraudulent land transactions, the Resident District Commissioner, Jackline Kankunda has revealed. According to Kankunda, village chairpersons (LCs) witness multiple land sales, which has become a source of insecurity.
She disclosed this shortly after holding a security meeting where she warned to deal with errant LCs involved in fraudulent land transactions.
Her warning stemmed from a report by the officer in charge of Criminal Investigations at Entebbe Police station, Godlive Twinomugisha indicating that cases of land fraud involving multiple sales witnessed by LC officials were on the rise.
The report also pointed to the rise in cases of Domestic violence. The RDC explained that they held the meeting to issue guidelines to those concerned to take extra measures, especially during the festive season.
The RDC said ADF and other terror groups had targeted to hit during the FIFA World Cup period but the vigilance of security personnel saw the country go through it without major incidents.
