Koboko district Resident District Commissioner () is among five people who died in a nasty accident along the Kampala Masaka highway on Friday morning.
According to a statement issued by the police, the accident happened at Mpambire swamp along Kampala- Masaka highway three Miles from Mpiji Town.
The police adds that the accident involved a Tanzanian trailer Reg. No. TZ 881DNG and a premio Reg. No. UAZ 417D killing all the occupants of the premio on spot.
The victims have been identified as: Hajji Abdullah Muwonge, 54, of Nyamitanga in Mbarara District; Isaac Kawooya, Resident District Commissioner of Koboko District, Anasipasi Mukakamali, 66; Christine Aharizira, 25, of Mutojo Ntungamo, Manusulu Semanda of Kakoba in Mbarara District; and a five-year old juvenile who is not been identified.
Investigations into the cause of accident is underway.
Arrangements are underway to transfer the bodies to Mulago City mortuary for postmortem examination.
