Gender Ministry Boss Bigirimana Robbed In Fort Portal

Police in Fort Portal are hunting for robbers who stole property worth 8 million shillings from Pius Bigirimana, the permanent secretary Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development.

The Rwenzori Region Police Spokesperson, Lydia Tumushabe, says that the incident happened on Saturday at around 5:30 pm when Bigirimana had visited the home of his late father-in-law, Cyprian Winyi Kasaija in Bwera A village in Bukwali Parish, East Division Fort Portal for a memorial service.

Among the stolen property include an iPad that belongs to National Social Security Fund – NSSF, personal mini iPad, official and personal documents.

According to Tumushabe, when Bigirimana was in the sitting room with other family members, he heard a loud bang in the adjacent room where he had kept the bag contained the property.

She says that on entering the room, he found the bag had been stolen.

Tuumushabe says that a case of robbery has already report at Fort Portal Police Station and investigations are on-going.
