According to FUFA’s media manager, Ahmed Hussein, the top executive of FUFA met the first Janet Museveni for the first time yesterday to discuss funding for the national team.

“It’s premature to divulge into details but the meeting was positive and at the right time we shall communicate,” Hussien said on Tuesday.

Magogo had last week reiterated government funding as the only way that could help the team qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

He stated that preparations for games against Ghana and Congo will require $50 0000 (Shs1.7bn) if the Russia dream is to stay alive.

“We have demonstrated that we have the ability to win our remaining matches and consequently the biggest opportunity ever to play at the World Cup,” said Magogo in a press conference last week.

Uganda are placed second in Group E with seven points, two behind leaders Egypt.
