Leading global Airline, Qatar Airways, on Tuesday provided students at Kauthara Islamic School in Wakiso district in Uganda on the outskirts of the capital, Kampala with desks for their classrooms, supporting the learning of approximately 400 students.
The colorful event endorsed by Uganda’s State Minister for Primary Education, Hon. Rosemary N, Seninde was held at the school where VIPs including Gerorge Mutekanga, Commissioner for Private Schools Sempala Kigozi, the Member of Parliament Makindye East, attended.
Students, their families, teachers and VIPs came together for the Tuesday morning function, which included speeches by the Chairman of the Board of Governors, Mr. Abdallah Ssenjala; the Commissioner for Private Schools, Mutekanga George, ; Member of Parliament Makindye East, Hon. Sempala Kigozi and Sheikh Ali Shuyu (Sheikh of Masjid Jamia) Guests also witnessed the desk handover between Qatar Airways Uganda Commercial Manager, Mr. Haileab Netsereab Mehreteab and the Kauthara Islamic School Head Teacher; Mr. Bashir Ssaazi.
Qatar Airways Commercial Manager Uganda, Mr. Haileab Netsereab Mehreteab, said:

Kauthara School Headmaster, Mr. Ssaazi, said:

Thequality furniture provided by Qatar Airways will enhance the studying environment of the pupils and make their learning more comfortable. We will also be able to enroll more pupils in the school thus contributing to the development of our nation.”
Qatar Airways operates one daily flight to Entebbe International Airport, Uganda, with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The wide body aircraft has a capacity of 22 seats with a 1-2-1 configuration in Business Class, 232 seats with a 3-3-3 configuration in Economy Class, and a spacious design. Qatar Airways is the only airline to operate a Boeing 787 aircraft daily to and from Entebbe.
