Farmers attending the Harvest Money expo at Namboole stadium have an opportunity to purchase the New Holland TT40 tractor at a 25% discount.
Speaking to farmers at the Cooper Motors Corporation (CMC) stall in Namboole, Paul Bukenya, the senior sales consultant New Holland tractors said the discount was extended to farmers to allow them procure the tractor at an affordable price.
“President Museveni has always preached the gospel of mechanized farming and as the distributors of the best tractors in the country, we thought there was no better way to help spread the President’s gospel apart from selling our tractor at a subsidized price. So, I urge all farmers attending the Harvest money expo to visit our stall to get further information about our tractors,” Bukenya said.
Bukenya further explained that farmers who will have registered with the New Holland team at Namboole will still enjoy the discount even after the expo.
Bukenya says the New Holland tractor is multipurpose and cost-effective.
Apart from ploughing and harvesting, the tractor can also be used to generate power, transport produce from the farm, make silage and also run a water pump.
Recently, government procured New Holland tractors through the National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) to cement efforts aimed at mechanizing agriculture and improving farm productivity. Agriculture Minister, Vincent Bamulangaki Ssempijja said the tractors and implements will be delivered to the beneficiaries including cooperative unions before the end of the 2018/2019 Financial year.
