Uganda’s Chief Justice, Bart Katureebe has disagreed with the country’s President over granted bail to suspected killers.
On Thursday, President Museveni revealed that he does not to hear that suspected killers have been either granted bail or police bond.
However, on Friday, the CJ issued a statement saying the judiciary will be guided by the constitution on the issue of bail.
“It is simple; the issue of bail is governed by the constitution and the law. Until the law is amended, bail will be granted or denied in accordance with the constitution and the law,” Katureebe said.
