KCCA Continues To Set Standards Too High

Julius Raymond Kabugo polished the image of KCCA FC, Josephine Namukisa is making it shine.

The revolutionary ideas at KCCA started with the appointment of Kabugo and his subsequent appointment of Mike Mutebi as the manager.

The trial period was indeed trying leading to the termination of Sam Ssimbwa’s contract for allegations of paying opponents.

When the dust settled, KCCA ended up lifting the trophy in 2016 and a double the following season.

Last season, they played in the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup and missed out a place in the semis narrowly.

The 12-time former league winners are yet to equal SC Villa’s 16 trophies, but they are threatening to do that including upstaging the Jogoos this season.

As success on the pitch continues to make everyone at the club smile from ear to ear, things seem to be getting rosier.

When Kabugo retired mid last season, Namukisa was handed the baton and on the outlook she is making strides.

She may vahe challenges with the way she handles her staff and the lack of significant signings, but her fashion sense is impressive.

KCCA have made quite a statement on their travels with trendy travel gear.

Of course their deep pockets cannot be rivalled by any team in Uganda, but doing the right thing with the money is a huge challenge to many sports administrators.

KCCA plays St George of Ethiopia this evening in the CAF Champions League tie with an eye on the USD500,000 (Shs1bn) bounty that awaits them if they progress over two legs.
