Finance Trust Bank (FTB) has been awarded the prestigious ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). The certification was issued by Interdigicert Kenya, accredited by KENAS under certificate number CB/028, with FTB receiving certificate number CT-ISMS-102025-OCUO1940.

This achievement underscores the Bank’s unwavering commitment to protecting customer information, aligning with national regulatory requirements, and maintaining the highest standards of information security across its operations.

ISO/IEC 27001:2022 is the globally recognized benchmark for managing information security risks, and its certification demonstrates that FTB has implemented a robust, structured, and proactive security framework that safeguards sensitive customer and operational data.

According to the Bank, the strategic goal behind pursuing this certification was twofold: ensuring regulatory compliance and creating a secure environment for information, reinforcing Finance Trust Bank’s values of excellence, integrity, and customer focus.

The certification covers all services, processes, personnel, information, and systems involved in delivering banking services, including Data Centre Operations and all digital processing platforms that handle critical customer information. This ensures that customer data is protected at every digital touchpoint. Achieving this milestone followed a rigorous exercise of reviewing and aligning internal information policies and processes with the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard. Despite tight timelines and the need to balance day-to-day operations, FTB’s staff and management demonstrated resilience and teamwork, enabling the Bank to attain this highly sought-after industry certification.

The Bank customers will benefit from enhanced data protection, improved service continuity, reduced risk of service disruption, and increased assurance that their information is handled securely and in compliance with regulatory requirements. This strengthens customer confidence in Finance Trust Bank’s suite of digital and traditional banking products.

Commenting on the achievement, Ms. Anne Nakawunde, Managing Director, Finance Trust Bank said: “Receiving the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification reflects Finance Trust Bank’s dedication to safeguarding customer information and upholding global best practices in information security.
