Kansai Plascon Uganda officials handing over the paint to Tooro Kingdom officials
Kansai Plascon Uganda has officially handed over a donation of paint to the Tooro Kingdom to support the refurbishment of the Royal Palace ahead of the 30th Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty, the Omukama of Tooro.
The generous donation covers both interior and exterior painting of the palace, spanning over 8,500 square meters.
The handover ceremony took place at the Palace Grounds and was presided over by Mr. Santosh Gumte, Managing Director of Kansai Plascon Uganda. He was joined by the Plascon leadership team including Mr. Daniel Kayongo, Head of Marketing, and Mr. Kato Moses, Head of Sales.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Tooro Kingdom was the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire, and the Deputy Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Henry Basaliza.
“Such partnerships create impact and real change. We are grateful to Plascon for this amazing initiative as we prepare for the coronation. This isn’t our first collaboration — Plascon has supported us over the years, including with the Amasaza Cup, which has helped us reach thousands more people,” said Prime Minister Rwomiire.
“I officially invite you all to the coronation celebrations. The palace, freshly painted and restored to its majestic glory, will be an amazing place to be.” Mr. Gumte reaffirmed Plascon’s ongoing support for cultural institutions: “We are proud to be the official paint partner of Tooro Kingdom. This is a long-standing relationship we deeply value — I’ve even been honored with an Empaako, Ateenyi. Supporting educational, cultural, and religious institutions is part of our ESG goals and our way of giving back to the communities that support us,” he said.
The paint donation is part of preparations for the 30th Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty the Omukama of Tooro, which will be held on 12th September 2025. The refurbishment aims to restore the palace’s royal appearance in time for the highly anticipated celebrations. This contribution reflects Kansai Plascon’s broader commitment to sustainability, heritage preservation, and community empowerment under its #ColourYourWorld initiative.
