Bishop Lawrence Mukasa inscribes ashes on the forehead of a Rev. Sr. during Ash Wednesday Mass at Kasana Cathedral.
Rt. Rev. Lawrence Mukasa, the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kasana-Luwero has lashed out at people who stage cameras to capture public attention while extending aid to the poor.
Bishop Mukasa says that God rewards those who give wholeheartedly without expecting public praise for their deeds, and adds that a genuine giver doesn’t need to show off.
He was delivering his Homily at Our Lady of Fatima Queen of Peace Kasana Cathedral during Mass to mark Ash Wednesday, a holy day of prayer and fasting to mark the start of Lent.
Bishop Mukasa asked the faithful to avoid showing off while helping the needy. He has also asked them to engage more in self-sacrifice in addition to Almsgiving during this Lenten season.
