61,000 International Passengers Used Entebbe Airport In July As COVID Hits Aviation Industry

61,328 international passengers used Entebbe Airport in July 2021 compared to 75,472 in June, 77,063 in May and 85,054 in April 2021, Business Focus reports.

The revelation has been made by Vianney M. Luggya, the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) Spokesman.

Luggya says the 61,328 international passengers in July comprised 23,594 arrivals, 29,137 departures and 8,597 transit.

“July’s average was 1,978 passengers per day compared to 5,412 per day before Covid-19,” he said.

Luggya reveals that 5,871 metric tonnes of cargo (2,491 imports & 3,380 exports) were handled through Entebbe International Airport in July 2021 compared to 5,148 tonnes in June, 5,329 in May, 5,725 tonnes in April, 5,977 tonnes in March, 4, 766 in February and 4,911 tonnes in January 2021.
