Youth Group Sets Tough Questions As Parliament Probes BoU

Top youth group, Youth Power Research Uganda has set tough questions it wants parliament to follow in investigating the central bank.

The questions are contained in a statement issues on Tuesday evening.

Below is the statement

BoU IS SCARED OF PARLIAMENT (COSASE)

As parliament plans to investigate Bank of Uganda (BoU)staff, there is timid mood at the Central bank for fear of blowing their cover.

As an Action group,we are eagerly waiting for the comprehensive report because we want to detach BoU misgivings from government. This is what we want parliament to find out:

1.Why did BoU fail to act when some section of the public started fake news to withdraw their money hence causing the bank to bust? Was it a natural cause or syndicate?

2.Why does BoU want to take everything and wipe out the Directors of Crane Bank of their enterprise yet their investment was worth Ugx 1.7tn at that time?

3.Why did BoU refuse to capitalize the bank before takeover but chose to spend Ugx 400b in the process of takeover?

The irony is that there might have been a plot to fail Mr.Sudhir by his nemeses at the expense of the numerous jobs he creates.

We therefore think that it is absolute nonsense to remove the shareholders of Crane bank from the equation.

In Public interest, we therefore seek the attention of H.E the President to intervene to save the dignity of our country in becoming the safe havens for investors.
