Victoria University Hands Over 300 Scholarships To Kampala Minister

Ruparelia Foundation has offered 300 Victoria University Scholarships to Kampala based students joining the fast-growing University.

The Scholarships were handed over to Kampala Minister Betty Kamya at her office on Wednesday, May 29 by Rajiv Ruparelia, who represented Ruparelia Foundation and Naiya Ruparelia, a Director at Victoria University.

This follows an announcement by Rajiv Ruparelia early this month that Ruparelia Foundation will offer 1,100 scholarships to students across the country to join Jinja road based Victoria University.

The scholarships are distributed as follow; Faculty of Health Sciences (200), Faculty of Business Management (150), Faculty of Science and Technology (200), Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (250) and Department of Petroleum and Energy Studies (300).

Naiya Ruparelia said the 300 Scholarships handed over to the Minister will cover 70% of the tuition and the minimum requirement for the degree programme is two (2) principal passes and one (1) principal pass for Diplomas.

She added that in terms of distribution, 50 scholarships will be given in health sciences, 100 in science and technology, 50 in oil and gas, 50 in humanity, 50 in faculty of business.

The University also offers a foundation course for those who don’t meet the required qualifications.

Victoria University which opened in August 2010 is part of Ruparelia Group of Companies, which has a strong presence in the education sector in Uganda.
