URA Beat Police 3-1 To Maintain Lead on UPL Table

URA, Police action in Ndejje

Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) FC continued their race for the 2021 silverware after earning a 3-1 win over Police FC at Arena of Visions stadium in Ndejje.

Goals from striker Steven Dese Mukwala, Joachim Ojera and Cromwel Rwothomio were enough to see the tax collectors sail past the Cops in a bid to secure the top league title after almost a decade without winning it.

URA looked a better side from the start with threats from Rwomthomio and Mukwala’s shot which hit the wood work in the 30th minute. They however got their first goal in the 34th minute through striker Mukwala before Ojera doubled the lead just two minutes after kickoff of the second half.

Rwothomio later extended the hosts’ win to three in the 61st minute. However before the  full time, Fahad Kizito scored a consolation for the Cops in the 87th minute.

URA FC head coach Sam Ssimbwa said he is happy for the win but unfortunately his closest competitors Vipers and Express also won their games. However Ssimbwa said this will not bother his team claiming that they will only focus on their own games as they fight for the trophy.
